Summer Lovin'

Living in the Midwest, I've learned to hate snow. Unless it's Christmas. So, now with this bipolar weather we've got goin' on. I'm counting the days until spring break, because after a year of saving up, my brother and I get to go to playlist live in Orlando, Fl, where I can fangirl all I want over the hilarious/extremely talented youtubers. You're jealous, I know.
So, sudden change in weather means I'm in desperate need of new clothing. And have no fear! I've managed to spend a total of $50 on the entire outfit with my amazing bargain hunting skills.

During a recent visit to the city of Chicago, I decided to take a quick stroll through the paradise I call Topshop. My Holy Grail. Which isn't necessarily a good thing, considering everything there is a little too pricey for my liking. Anyways, I found this ah-mazing yellow knit crop sweater with a horrible price of $60. I simply had to have it, but I refuse to spend so much on something that I won't wear every hour of every day. So, convincing myself that "yolo" is truly a motto I should live by, I took a risk. I went to the cashier and kissed as much as as I could, to a point where it was so obvious that the Topshop employee caught on and finally gave in, giving me a 50% discount as long as I kept it on the DL. (It doesn't count if it's on the internet). So, I managed to walk out of there with the crop sweater AND a fuller wallet.
Every cute top needs a pair of shorts to go with it. And who am I to stop someone/something from finding their true soulmate? So, let me introduce you to the cutest pair of high waisted shorts that were abandoned in the Goodwill two towns over. The label was ripped off, so I cannot, for the life of me, tell you the exact brand it is. But after a visit to Forever XXI, I saw the exact same pair for around 20 bucks. Lucky for me, Goodwill was kind enough to sell it to me for $15. For that, I thank you, Goodwill.
Last, but most definitely not least, was this heaven-sent pair of cat eye sunnies that I was blessed with in  H&M at the accessories rack for only $3.99! I cannot express how much I love them. They do their job as sunglasses, all while looking good on my face, which is all I ask. For anyone interested, Forever XXI has more than enough of these lifesavers to share.

There's a First For Everything....

There comes a time in every teen's life when they realize how big of a shit hole they're truly in. I know this from experience. You love shopping, but you're running out of money. Fast.
In desperate need of an excuse to spend my days shopping/staring at the computer screen, I've decided to start this blog. I'm on a mission to find fashionable outfits for the average teen while on a budget. It's a win-win situation for us all.

I'm guessing I should probably let you know a little bit about myself first.
Well, I'm a junior in high school, working in a local coffee shop, and I live in the North Shore. You know, where "Mean Girls" was based off of? Yeah. Except, unlike everyone else in this damn place, my parents' wallets aren't bottomless pits of cash. So, I kinda need to take an extra two steps ahead of everyone else in order to "fit in". I'm a swimmer, been one for three years now, and I'm attempting not to drown in my school's newly formed water polo team. But, hey, you can't blame me for trying. I'm the oldest of 5 girls in my family, 3 of them being half-sisters, but younger than all my brothers, two of them only related through marriage. Oh, and my name's Maya. Which is probably important information, but I think thats all you really need to know about me. I doubt you're interested in all the personal stuff so, I'll just end it here.
Thanks for listening!
